Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet
Patience is bitter and a fragile thing. Sometimes you feel like you can wait without worry, other times you pace the floor. I'm more like the latter than the former. Read about this week, waiting on Beta Reader's Feedback and how I kept busy.
Beta Readers are Still Reading.

I took that quote from Jean-Jacques Rousseau because patience is bitter, and fragile. I have to believe that at some point in my life, I’m going to learn patience.  Last week five beta-readers received the full manuscript.  Two wonderful people have given me feedback.

Amazing, and Thank You to them.

The thing is, I need to wait till I get all five.  It takes the full picture to understand what the various age groups, backgrounds, and countries I chose think of the book.  I’m bullish on this novel.  But, it came from my brain, so it is fair to say I’m biased.

So, what have I been doing?

NEWSLETTER Campaign

To keep myself busy I set up a newsletter sign up.  You may have seen it pop up about fifteen seconds after your arrived on the page.  If you would be so kind, please join the newsletter.  Once a month I’ll send, right to your inbox, the last four blog posts.  In the future, as I launch novels, then you’ll get novel launch dates, pre-orders and the like.

If you haven’t done so, please join our Newsletter.  The link is on the footer of this site.

Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn

I had to learn how to create linked images and put them on all three of my main sites.  I’m still thinking about joining others, but for right now Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn are my main platforms.

I had to figure out how to use anyimage.io which allowed me to make the image send you to a landing page – similar to what I did on the footer of erotica-writer.com.

Once I had that all figured out, I needed to learn the mail client.  I went with David Gaughran’s recommendation.  I’m using MailerLite.  If you’ve not seen Gaughran’s free course on Starting from Zero for Authors – I highly recommend it.  I’ve now gone through it twice.  That’s because some foreign languages (Marketing being one) are more difficult to understand than others.

Tasks For the Near Future

Done: Launch newsletter campaign.  More to come as I learn more.

About the Author Page:  I need to put together a good page for the back of the book, and to update the one at the front of this website.

Cover Design: If I go it as an independent author, then I’ll need a book cover.

Oh, and I forgot the most important near future goal.

Patience: Need to wait for all 5 Beta Reader feedback before starting to do the final adjustments to the manuscript.

AUTHOR’S NOTES:

Are you patient?

Do you get tired of waiting for things to happen?

How are your Marketing Campaigns and Newsletters?

  1. Hi, I feel you pain in not having a lot of patience. Just think back to the many times you helped me with writing, and the patience you learned to have. Believe it or not, you have much more then you think. Remember, stop, take a breath, then go for a walk or some form of puzzle that occupied your mind. You are moving forward in your dream, but the best are worth the hard work and wait. Keep up the battle, i know you will come out a winner
